SOME GLAD
MORNING
This sculpture constructs a standing figure from welded steel rods and salvaged metal fragments arranged into an open skeletal armature. Long tapered legs anchor the form to the ground while a network of triangulated rods defines the torso and shoulders. The body is described through line and tension, allowing the structure of the figure to remain fully visible.
Thin rods extend outward from the shoulders like incomplete wings. These elements suggest movement or expansion without resolving into a stable anatomy. The figure occupies a space between human form and structural diagram, presenting the body as a framework assembled from directional forces.
The work studies balance through minimal material. Plates, rods, and fragments meet through exposed welds that make the process of assembly legible. The figure appears suspended between scaffold and organism, held upright through alignment and compression rather than enclosure.
