Bastard Son of a King

YEAR 2016
MEDIUM WELDED STEEL, ANIMAL SKULL, AGRICULTURAL TOOLS
SCALE 488 × 91 × 122 CM

This sculpture assembles the skeletal body of a Minotaur from welded steel and salvaged agricultural implements. Curved bars trace the ribs and spine while plates and rods construct the extended arms and torso. A horned skull crowns the figure, anchoring the form in the language of animal remains and rural labor.

Tools once used for cultivation become elements of the body itself, tying the figure to histories of land and inheritance. The title positions the figure as both descendant and fracture, holding myth and memory within a single constructed body.
